Project Background
A materials science research institute is leading the construction of a National Major Science and Technology Infrastructure—the "Space Environment Ground Simulation Facility." With a total investment of nearly 2 billion yuan, this facility serves as a core scientific research platform supporting China's space exploration strategy. It requires precise replication of the space environment on Earth, placing extremely high demands on the reliability and environmental adaptability of supporting equipment.
Core Challenges
During space environment simulations, the facility must maintain extreme temperature ranges from -60°C to 85°C and a vacuum environment of 10⁻¹ Pa for extended periods. Conventional motors use lubricating greases that are prone to solidification or performance degradation under low-temperature conditions, leading to: abnormal increases in motor starting torque, elevated operational noise, intensified vibration, reduced long-term operational reliability, and potential impacts on the accuracy of experimental data and the continuity of the facility.
Solution
Our company has developed specialized low-temperature vacuum motors tailored to these challenges. They utilize dedicated high-quality lubricants to ensure normal operation across the specified temperature range, while optimized sealing structures and material outgassing controls meet the long-term operational requirements of the vacuum environment. These motors have now been successfully integrated into the facility's precision detection system.
